Description The ADB assistance is a direct loan of up to $7.5 million to Commercial Leasing Company Ltd. (CLC). The loan was used for providing leasing facilities to small and medium-sized companies, especially to support business in rural areas in Sri Lanka.
Objectives and Scope The ADB assistance has strengthened the leasing industry further and provided funding resources and financial services to the SME sector in Sri Lanka. The loan to Commercial Leasing Co. Ltd. (CLC) has provided access to long-term funds and thereby enabled them to promote alternative financing instruments to SME entrepreneurs to promote their operations, increase profitability and enhance their competitiveness.
