Description The technical assistance (TA) will carry out a feasibility study of providing electricity supply to selected northern areas of Lao PDR and to consolidate the findings of the study into a project suitable for Bank financing. The scope of the works consists of (i) assessing the demand for electricity in the candidate Project areas; (ii) identifying the best options to meet the assessed demand; (iii) preparing feasibility study level designs for the best options; (iv) carrying out economic and financial evaluations of the subprojects; (v) assessing the environmental and social impacts of the subprojects and formulating suitable mitigation measures; and (vi) proposing suitable institutional improvements to ensure efficient implementation of the ensuing project.
