Description |
The objectives of the SSTA are to assist the Government and the Road Development Authority (RDA) with comprehensively assessing the economic and other benefits that will arise from the Project, and with ensuring that the environmental impacts the Project will cause are identified and mitigated. The scope of the SSTA includes (i) undertaking a detailed development impact analysis including identifying potential impacts on poverty in the southern region;(ii) updating the feasibility study economic analysis to take into account development benefits and alternative operations and maintenance regimes; (iii) undertaking a poverty impact study; (iv) appropriately addressing the environmental impacts that the Project will cause, and assisting the Project Executing Agency with preparing the Environmental Impact Assessment and the Summary Environmental Impact Assessment required by the Bank's guidelines. |
