Description |
The impact of the TA will be to support the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) 2004-2023 and its goal of economic self-sufficiency. The TA seeks to achieve the outcome of interlinked budget and planning processes supporting sustainable economic development. |

Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy |
This TA supports the FSM Country Strategy and Program Update 2006-2007 key priority of good governance (which includes promotion of effective development processes and support for long-term capacity-building efforts). This priority will be recognized in the Country Operations Business Plan 2007-2010 being developed for FSM in 2007. At FSM's request this TA replaced the programmed 2007 TA "Health and Education Sector" so recognizing the availability of US Compact funds for health and education sector activities. |
