The National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) 2005-2025 that was prepared in consultation with a broad cross-section of the Nauru community provides the vision for Nauru s long term national goals. The NSDS is a milestone document that captured the people s vision as A future where all individual, community, business and government partnerships contribute to a sustainable quality of life for all Nauruans. The long term goals of NSDS are (i) a stable, trustworthy, fiscally responsible government; (ii) provision of enhanced social, infrastructure and utilities services; (iii) development of an economy based on multiple sources of revenue; (iv) rehabilitation of mined out lands for livelihood sustainability; and (v) development of domestic food production.
