Project detail: 

Proposed river-bed sand mining project on the Punpun River, covering 8.09 Ha. The project involves extraction of sand from the dry river bed using open-cast manual/mechanized methods, with JCBs/excavators and trucks/trolleys for transportation. The permitted production is 145,620 CUM (243,185.4 tonnes) per year, with mining planned for 250 working days/year and restricted to a depth of 3.0 m. The project is intended to meet growing local demand for sand used in construction and infrastructure activities. It is expected to provide 39 direct employment opportunities, along with indirect employment. 

Project Cost: ?15,213,650 (?152.1365 lakh / approximately ?1.52 crore)
