Project detail:
Proposed brownfield expansion and upgradation of Navlakhi Port into a deep-draft, all-weather, multi-purpose/multi-cargo port for handling coal, containers, salt and other dry bulk/general cargo. The project includes construction of berths, dredging of approach channels and berth pockets, reclamation, container and bulk cargo facilities, storage yards, internal roads, railway and administrative/utility infrastructure. The project is planned in phases, with the Master Plan extending to 2060. The planned handling capacity is 20 million metric tonnes/annum of dry bulk cargo and 1.01 million TEU/annum of containers. The project is intended to improve trade and logistics connectivity, support regional industries and promote port-led economic development.
Project Cost: ?5,142 Crore total estimated project cost. The cost table gives ?2,872 crore for Phase 1, ?1,242 crore for Phase 2 and ?1,028 crore for the Master Plan.
