Project detail:
The project aims to improve sustainable, inclusive, and resilient urban services and mobility through infrastructure investment and strengthen the state's capacity for integrated urban planning and sustainable service delivery. Key activities include improvement of water supply and sanitation infrastructure, urban roads and mobility, stormwater drainage, footpaths, streetlights, transit hubs, smart parking, smart zones, and riverfront recreational infrastructure. The project covers seven towns: Gangtok, Gyalshing, Mangan, Pakyong, Rangpo, Singtam, and Soreng. Water supply improvements are specifically planned for Gangtok, Pakyong, Rangpo, and Singtam, with sewerage and fecal sludge management improvements in selected towns. The project also includes urban planning, GIS-based master plans, climate action planning, municipal capacity building, and e-governance initiatives.
