Project detail:
The project involves construction of a new metro line with 8.62 km of underground alignment and 7 stations in congested areas of Indore, with connectivity to the airport. It also includes multimodal integration facilities connecting the metro with existing bus and feeder services, with emphasis on access to educational institutions and markets. The project aims to address increasing travel demand caused by industrial development and population growth, increase public transport usage, reduce dependence on private vehicles, and strengthen Indore's integrated, inclusive and climate-resilient urban transit system.
Project Cost: US$ 415.60 million total identified funding: US$190.60 million ADB loan + US$225.00 million New Development Bank funding.
