Project detail:
The project involves the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of a wind-solar hybrid renewable energy plant in Andhra Pradesh. It comprises 250.8 MW wind capacity, 435 MW AC (587 MW DC) solar capacity, and a battery energy storage system (BESS) of 173 MW / 415 MWh. The project will be connected to the interstate transmission system and supply assured power to the Solar Energy Corporation Limited, including 300 MW per hour during up to 4 peak hours per day and minimum baseload supply during nonpeak hours. The project supports India's renewable-energy and non-fossil-fuel capacity targets and is expected to create employment during construction and operation.
Project Cost: INR 25,785 million loan facility (ADB Ordinary Capital Resources). An additional USD 120 million loan was provided through the Leading Asia's Private Sector Infrastructure Fund 2. The document presents these as assistance amounts rather than a stated total project cost.
