Project detail:
The proposed technical assistance (TA) aims to support the sustainable and resilient transformation of the rice sector in Asia, including India. It will identify transformative solutions, support upstream activities and capacity development, and help develop innovative rice-sector project pipelines. The initiative focuses on improving food and nutrition security, climate resilience, rice productivity and livelihoods of vulnerable populations. It will also strengthen the enabling environment for carbon credit markets in the rice sector through satellite and other advanced technologies.
Project Cost: US$ 3.80 million total TA funding — US$1.00 million from the Technical Assistance Special Fund, US$800,000 from the High Level Technology Fund, and US$2.00 million from the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific.
