Project detail:
The project is the fourth tranche of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) investment program, aimed at improving urban mobility in the National Capital Region. It finances the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor connecting Delhi with Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The 82-km corridor is designed for speeds of up to 180 km/hour, with high-frequency services every 5–10 minutes, reducing the journey time from approximately 3–4 hours to about 1 hour. The project will provide safe, reliable and high-capacity commuter transit, strengthen NCRTC's institutional capacity, and improve mobility and economic opportunities for women and people with disabilities.
Project Cost: US$299.00 million (ADB Loan 4644-IND).
