Project detail:
The project aims to improve access to low-carbon, reliable electricity for agricultural communities in Maharashtra through agricultural feeder solarization, renewable-energy integration, rural grid upgrades, digitalization and energy-storage solutions. It addresses the need for reliable daytime electricity for agricultural consumers while supporting renewable-energy adoption and reducing dependence on conventional power. The program is expected to establish green-energy-ready rural grids, accelerate renewable-energy integration and support inclusive green-energy livelihoods. The project has US$460 million in ordinary capital resources and US$40 million from the Clean Technology Fund, totaling US$500 million.
Project Cost: US$500 million — US$460 million loan from ordinary capital resources + US$40 million Clean Technology Fund.
