The project proposes manual open-cast scooping of ordinary sand from the Pimpri Divat Sand Ghat on the Painganga River to meet the increasing demand for construction-grade sand in Yavatmal district. Mining will be carried out manually using simple tools such as spades without blasting or overburden removal. The proposed mining area is 1.00 hectare with a production capacity of 1,776 Brass for a 1-year scooping period.
