Project detail:
The project proposes the development of the Chhadgada Pumped Storage Project (PSP) with an installed capacity of 900 MW, configured as a closed-loop pumped storage hydropower scheme comprising 2 × 300 MW and 2 × 150 MW units. The project includes construction of upper and lower reservoirs, dams, intake structures, water conductor systems, powerhouse complex, and associated transmission infrastructure. The project is intended to support integration of renewable energy into the grid, provide peak power supply, load shifting, frequency regulation, grid stability, and energy storage services. The project is expected to contribute significantly to India's clean energy transition, reduce carbon emissions, strengthen energy security, and support economic development through infrastructure investment and employment generation.
