An Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) is the ingredient in a pharmaceutical drug that is
biologically active. The similar terms active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and bulk active
are used in medicine, and the term active substance may be used for natural products. Some
medication products may contain more than one active ingredient. The dosage form for a
pharmaceutical contains the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), which is the drug itself,
other material that is pharmaceutically inert. Drugs are chosen primarily for their active
ingredients. The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) is the part of any drug that produces
its effects. Some drugs, such as combination therapies, have multiple active ingredients to treat
different symptoms or act in different ways. In today’s environment there is a need for reliable
supply of high quality pharmaceutical materials, specifically for niche chemical molecules. The
company expects to cater to both domestic and international customers, delivering quality
products. The biggest risk in today’s market is a manufacturer’s supply chain – which is heavily
reliant on imports. VPPL aim is to empower domestic suppliers and start from an early stage
to reduce the countries reliance on imports.

Project Cost: 21.36 cr
