Project detail:
The project involves mining of Quartz, Mica and Vermiculite over a lease area of 12.14 hectares in Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. The mining will be carried out by opencast method involving drilling, blasting, manual sorting and transportation to stockyards. The proposed production capacity is 63,897 TPA of Quartz and 2,052 TPA of Vermiculite. The project is aimed at meeting mineral demand for industries such as ferrosilicon, silicon carbide, ceramic, porcelain and export markets (particularly mica export). The mine will generate direct employment for mine officials, skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers and contribute to socio-economic development through community support initiatives such as drinking water, healthcare and educational assistance.
