M/s. Omgene Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. Located at Plot No.: 333-334, Doctor & Doctor, Makarpura GIDC, Tal & Dist. Vadodara Gujarat for manufacturing of synthetics organic chemicals. Omgene Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. has a strong research and development which is focused on bringing in continual improvements on process and products, backward integration and developing innovative products". Dr. Alaparthi Lakshmi Prasad began his professional career with Alembic Chemical Works Company Limited as Junior Scientific Officer. He left the company for better prospects and the designation at the time of leaving was scientific officer in August 1998. ALPrasad joined Sun Pharmaceuticals Research division in august 1998 and worked up to April 2001 and joined Aurobindo Pharma for establishment of Formulation development in April 2001. In 2002, he had started a small company in Hyderabad and had worked with Cipla Limited for 6 months and re- joined Sun Pharma Advanced Research Centre in December 2002 as Manager (Analytical).
In April 2005 he was selected as a member of the monograph Development: Psychiatrics and Psychoactive Expert Committee for the 2005-2010 cycle. Awarded Young pharmaceutical analyst award in 2006 by IDMA-APA. In 2009 he was selected for expert committee member for parenteral drug products at Indian Pharmacopeia. He served USP 2010-2015 cycle as an expert member in small molecules group-4. In 2011 he founded a Biopharmaceutical Company called Omgene Life Science Private Limited based at Baroda to work in Complex generics area. ALPrasad graduated from BITS-Pilani. In 1994, with a B. Pharmacy (Hons) degree in Pharmacy and completed M.Pharmacy from BITS-Pilani in January 1996. Ph.D. degree was awarded in 2005 from MS University. NATURE OF PROJECT
Proposed Expansion of pharma intermediate and API’s manufacturing unit. The products developed by M/s. Omgene Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. are of extremely complex nature and require complex processes to synthesize and analyze. Total Global requirement for these products is very small as compared to normal bulk drugs. Since most of these products need to pass through rigorous testing including clinical studies. It is important to manufacture these small quantities under strict cGMP principles. The products manufactured at the facility shall be used or offered for Finished Dosage Forms development and various equivalence studies where applicable including clinical trials. As there are very few players the demand for these products is increasing in the country as well as in the international market by more
production capacity of proposed products will be able to meet the demand of various products locally/overseas. This will also generate direct and indirect employment opportunity for various levels of people. The project would help the company to support the Indian economy in the following way: 1. Growth in Export Revenue and thereby increasing the inflow of foreign currency, which is much needed by our country. 2. Potential increase in job opportunities for the local surroundings. 3. Boost to the local service providers and the overall improvement in the economic activities like local RM suppliers, transporters, contractors and other allied suppliers.
