The technical assistance (TA) is a response to requests from member states and the secretariat of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for continuing support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to address persistent challenges to regional cooperation and integration (RCI) and advance the implementation of priority initiatives in line with strengthening the ADBSAARC partnership Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy While SAARC has achieved success over the years, challenges continue to impede the realization of the full potential of RCI. It remains one of Asia's least integrated regions with underutilized energy cooperation and inefficient deployment of financing needed for a resilient and sustainable future.
