All mining and development projects are likely to have an impact on the natural set up of the environment. This impact may be beneficial or adverse, depending on the improvement or the deterioration it brings, about change in the status of air, water, land, ecology, natural systems, socio- cultural life styles and economics of the population. Depending on the nature of mining and allied activities and baseline environment status, the impacts are assessed for their importance. On the basis of the impact analysis, the mitigating action and future monitoring requirement are paid attention in the Environmental Management Plan for countering or minimizing the impacts.
