Guarantee Mechanism for Renewable Bioenergy in India (P179178).
The World Bank is supporting the government in accelerating the development of CBG generation potential by de-risking sectoral bottlenecks and catalyzing investments that will improve access to capital. The project aims to harvest lessons learned and other knowledge from the sector, through the technical assistance component that will additionally support education and advocacy for uptake of this cleaner fuel. The proposed project will include the following components:
Component 1: A US$150 million IBRD Guarantee, and a US$10-15 million donor funded grant to mobilize private capital to scale up the generation of bioenergy.
(b) Component 2: Technical Assistance financed through a US$5 million donor funded grant to support the bankability of the entire CBG value chain.25.
