Gujarat Skills Development Program.
The proposed program aligns with Gujarat's vision of becoming a global industrial hub by leveraging its demographic dividend to cultivate a skilled workforce that can drive innovation and sustain economic momentum. The results-based lending (RBL) program will advance sustainable and inclusive growth in Gujarat with its outcome of an increased workforce with skills for priority industries. This will be achieved through two key outputs: (i) strengthening the institutional foundation and managerial capabilities of theKaushalya Skill University (KSU) network, and (ii) improving access to high-quality skills training in priority sectors, with a focus on frontier technologies. The program also prioritizes support for socially disadvantaged and marginalized groups, including women, enhancing their access to employment-oriented skills in key sectors. Through this process, the RBL program aims to transform the governance and performance of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector in Gujarat, setting a benchmark that can be replicated in other states.
