Maharashtra Climate Smart Connectivity for Inclusive Growth Results Based Lending Program.
A $400 million results-based lending (RBL) program is proposed for Maharashtra's road transport subsector to promote transport decarbonization pathways, climate adaptation and disaster-risk preparedness, road safety system maturation and asset management. The proposed RBL program will support the subsector's transition from regular roads to green roads by: (i) developing a green roads vision and an action plan to enhance the enabling environment; (ii) strengthening planning processes, institutional capacity, and sustainable procurement requirements that support road subsector investments; (iii) preparing a long-term decarbonization strategy; and (iv) building institutional capacity in green roads, road safety, and private sector financing.
