Project Detail:
Ahmedabad Peri urban Livability Improvement Project.
The project will support planned urban development of peri-urban areas surrounding Ahmedabad city to help control urban sprawl by providing basic infrastructure in five growth centers surrounding Ahmedabad as identified by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). The project will mainly improve stormwater drainage; sewerage, including sewage treatment with recycling of sewage for industrial use through public private partnership; and water supply in one project town. The project is also supporting 10 junction improvements along the existing Sardar Patel Ring Road (SPRR) surrounding Ahmedabad city to improve connectivity with Ahmedabad city. The project will benefit the projected population of 3.23 million by the year 2040 in project area, including about 1.55 million women, urban poor, and/or migrant workers, through the provision of climate- and disaster-resilient urban services and improved urban governance.
