Project Detail:
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI) has been the regional implementing agency (RIA) of the International Comparison Program (ICP) for Asia and the Pacific since 2003. The proposed corporate priority technical assistance (TA) aims to support ADB's continued role as the regional implementing agency (RIA) for the International Comparison Program (ICP) in the Asia and Pacific region. The TA will produce purchasing powerparities (PPPs) and related results for the 2024 ICP cycle and conduct related statistical capacity building activities in the participating economies. The ICP is a globally coordinated statistical initiative under the auspices of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC), that will produce PPPs, PPP-based internationally comparable volume measures of gross domestic product (GDP) and its components. Thus, ICP enables inter-economy comparisons of economic indicators, enhancing the understanding of global economic trends and facilitating evidence-based policy decisions.
