Project Detail:
To enhance urban flood resilience along the Tapi River in Surat and strengthen the institutional and financial capacity of Surat Municipal Corporation.
Multiple results areas are targeted under the project, including: (i) improved living conditions of the residents and increased economic opportunities for businesses along the revitalized Tapi Riverfront area; (ii) reduced flood risks of the Surat City through resilient urban infrastructure along the Tapi River; (iii) improved municipal revenue and finance performance and strengthened financial sustainability of the SMC to deliver services, and (iv) enhanced institutional capacity of the SMC and the TRFDCL to better plan, deliver and manage resilient urban services.
