The surrounding area is predominantly residential and commercial area. The net land area of the proposed project is 40347.407 Sq.M. By applying rational formula, the peak rate of storm runoff considering 36 mm/hr rainfall is given below.

Total land area = 40347.400 Sq. m= 4.03474 Ha. By applying rational method, the peak rate of run- off = 10 x 0.60 x 36 x 4.03474 cum. /hr. = 871.50 cum/hr. = 0.24 cum/sec. Velocity through pipe is 1.0 m/sec (non-scouring and non-silting). The required diameter of pipe is 276 mm.
