Project Detail:
The PforR Program boundary includes (a) reinforced cement concrete (RCC) bridges maintenance; (b) RCC bridges widening; (c) RCC bridges replacement; (d) timber bridges replacement; (e) new bridges construction; and (f) institutional development activities (institutional reorganization, systems reengineering, and human capital building). The bridge works include the construction of approach roads and connectivity to the closest road network. The bridges are spread on roads under the jurisdiction of APWRD and priority village roads. Truck and bus stops connected by the bridges are also part of the program.
Expenditures are expected to include outlays for bridge design, site assessment, laboratory tests, piles integrity tests, quality monitoring, construction supervision services, feasibility study, program logistics support, environmental and social impact management, institutional development and systems reengineering studies, manual preparation, training (domestic and international), workshops, procurement of technical and office equipment, building maintenance and construction, preparations for future projects/programs, advanced bridge designs for enhanced resilience and inclusion; digital connectivity, Independent Verification Agent (Technical Audit Consultant), monitoring and evaluation, and others to be determined at appraisal.
The PforR Program will exclude the following: Bridges that are in environmentally and socially sensitive areas, and likely to have significant, adverse, and unprecedented impact on the environment and/or affected people. Specifically, bridges in national parks and designated environmentally sensitive areas. Other negative list activities will be determined at appraisal.
