Project Detail:

Surkha (N) is an existing lignite mine having mining lease area 3672 ha. with lignite production capacity of 3 Million TPA. Environmental Clearance was granted for this project vide No. J-11015/234/2006-IA II (M) dated 7 th May, 2007. GMDC has proposed to increase the production of above mine from its existing lignite production capacity of 3.0 Million TPA to 5.0 Million TPA within the same mining lease area. ToR granted for the lignite mining vide No. IA-J-11015/234/2006-IA-II(M), dated 9 th August, 2019 for enhancing the lignite production capacity from 3 Million TPA to 5 Million TPA in existing 3672 ha area . Mining Plan & Mine Closure Plan is approved by Ministry of Coal vide F. No. 48024/I/2000-Lignite/CA-I dated 9 th May 2016.
