Project Detail:

North Urimari OCP is a brownfield opencast coal-mining project situated in the South Karanpura Coalfileds under the administrative area of Barka-Sayal Area, CCL. The present proposal is regarding capacity expansion of North Urimari OCP from 3.6 MTPA to 4.2 MTPA within the project area of 523.06 Ha under Sec. 7 (ii) of EIA Notification 2006.

North Urimari OCP is an operating mine of CCL with an existing EC capacity of 3.6 MTPA. In order to meet the increasing coal demand from power sector in India, efforts are being made by Coal India Limited to enhance the production of existing coal mines. The present proposal i.e., Expansion of North Urimari OCP is an expansion proposal from 3.6 MTPA to 4.2 MTPA within the project area 523.06 Ha.

Total Project Cost: 5727 Lakh
