Project detail:
The proposed project involves expansion of production capacity of existing rolling mill based on the manufacture of MS rods, channels, angles along with MS billet. The project falls under secondary metallurgy industry classified as ‘Category-B’ as per the EIA Notificaion dated on 14th September, 2006 and its subsequent amendments. The production capacity of the present unit is 30,000 TPA of MS billets & TMT rods of 60,000 TPA. The production is proposed to increase production capacity either to 1,91,000 TPA of MS Billets or 1, 80,000 TPA of TMT rods.
The project site is located at 291/1, 291/2A, 291/2B, 291/3A, 291/3B, 291/4A, 292/4A,292/4B, 292/5A & 292/5B of Kalugondapalli village, Denkanikotta taluk, Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. Geographically, the site is situated at 12°38'49.33"N latitude & 77°45'10.13"E longitude and is located at 950- 956m above the MSL. The plant site area is covered by Survey of India Toposheet No – 57H/9, 57H/10, 57H/13, 57H/14. The details of environmental setting are given in Table 1-2. The index map of the project site and topographical feature of the study area within 10km radius is depicted in Figure 1-2 & Figure 1-3 respectively. Cost of the project is Rs. 25 Cr.
