Project Detail:
The NCR of India, centered around Delhi, is a region of very complex urban agglomerations including urban sprawl, a few planned satellites, and intensive work and personal commuter movements. The city of Delhi, accounting for 37% of the total NCR population while only covering 4.4% of the NCR area, is projected to become the most populous city in the world by 2028, with a projected population of 28 million. The large influx of migrants has led to extreme traffic congestion, lack of space for development of essential infrastructure, and lack of safe and affordable housing. The unicentric development focus on Delhi has prevented the NCR from realizing its true economic potentia.
