Project Detail:
The proposal was considered by the sectoral Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) in its 37th meeting held 17-18 November, 2022 and 39" meeting held during 12-13 January, 2022 through Video Conferencing The details of the proposal, as ascertained from the proposal documents and as revealed from the discussions held during the meetings. are given as under:
(i) The project area is covered under Survey of India Topo Sheet No. 63-1 /12 and is bounded by geographical coordinates ranging from Latitudes 24°6'26.08" North to 24°11'40.86" North and Longitudes 82°38'2.01" Last to 82°40'55.64" East.
(ii) Coal linkage of the project is for Singrauli Super thermal power station (SSTPS) (2000 MW} of NTPC and other thermal power stations of the nation and other consumers to meet the overall demand of power grade coal on NCI.
(iii) Joint venture cartel has not been formed. (iv) Project does not fall in the Critically Polluted Area (CPA). where the MoEF&CC’s vide its OM dated 13th January, 2010 has imposed moratorium on grant of environment clearance.
(v) Employment generation, 2690 nos. of permanent employment as per EPR 2016.
(vi) The project is reported to be beneficial in terms of supply planned quantity of coal to Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station (SSTPS) (2000 MW) of NTPC through MGR system, other thermal power stations of the nation and other consumers by rail mode, thus meeting the energy requirement of the country. It will also enhance the socic-economic activities in the adjoining area, Earlier, the environment clearance to the project was obtained under EIA Notification, 2006 vide Ministry's letter No J-11015/12/2017-IA.1I(M) date 29.08.2018 for 25 MTPA in mine lease area of 3177.171 ha.
(viii) Terms of Reference granted on — (for EC proposals)- Nat Applicable, as present proposal submitted under 7(ii} under Ministry’s OM dated 11.04.2022. (ix) Total mining lease area as per block allotment is 3177.171 Ha. Mining Plan (Including Progressive Mine Closure Plan) has been approved by the NCL Board on 31.10.2021.
Total cost of the project is Rs. 272567.00 lakhs.
