Project detail:
M/s. Krantiagrani Dr. G. D. Bapu Lad Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd.is a co-operative sugar mill
located at village Kundal, Tal-Palus, Dist- Sangli, Maharashtra. It was set up in the year 1997 and
the first crushing season of the mill was completed successfully in 2002-03. Recently, the
Government of India gave impetus to National Biofuel Policy & promoted ethanol production
from different feedstock including sugarcane juice/syrup, B heavy molasses or damaged grains.
It created huge opportunities for further expansion of distilleries in every state of India. It is
likely that over 400 crore liters of alternative feed stock based ethanol capacity will be added in
next two years in India. Hence, with rising demand of fuel ethanol, KDGDBLSSKL has decided to
undertake further capacity expansion of distillery unit to 260 KLPD (i.e. 90 KLPD ENA/Ethanol
unit + addition of new 170 KLPD Ethanol unit). ENA capacity however, will be limited to 90
KLPD only as existing and further 170 KLPD capacity addition will be solely for fuel ethanol for
contributing to the EBP (Ethanol Blending Program). Proposed expansion will be done within
the existing available land of the unit and no additional land is required for the said expansion.
