M/s. Ultramarine & Pigments Limited is a Private Limited company involved in the manufacturing of inorganic pigments (Ultramarine Blue ±Pigment Blue 29), surfactants and synthetic detergents was incorporated in 1975. The unit does not have Environmental Clearance as on date and operates with a CTO. In order to meet the needs of the market, the company proposes to manufacture additional products within its existing premises at survey nos. 52 and 846 and plot no: 25B, SIPCOT Industrial Complex Ranipet, Karai village, Walajah Taluk, Vellore district (Now Ranipet), Tamil Nadu. M/s. Ultramarine & Pigments Limited (UPL) focuses on the manufacturing of environmental friendly pigments that can be used safely across a variety of end users, including paints, plastic, inks, laundry, cosmetic etc. The UPL doing production of various anionic surfactants which is used in laundry, construction fire safety and personal care products from 1975. The unit began with Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic acid as a common surfactant used for detergents, now the unit produces Alpha Olefine Sulphonate in various concentrations and forms, including liquid, paste, powder & noodle. UPL is a ³Responsible Care´logo company & certified towards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications. The industry manufactures a range of inorganic pigments, detergents and cosmetic grade surfactants in the process and is the preferred supplier for most of the clients. The UPL makes inorganic pigments that are widely used in paints, auto & consumer plastics and surfactants that are utilized in home & personal care sectors, agrochemical and construction industries. The manufactured inorganic pigments and surfactants are identified as certified non-toxic (food safe) ecofriendly products
The proposed project is located at Survey no 52 and 846 and Plot No.25-B, SIPCOT Industrial Complex Ranipet, Karai Village, Walajah Taluk, Vellore District (Now Ranipet), Tamil Nadu. The total plot area is 8.66 Hectares. The project falls in SOI Topo sheet No. 57P/1, P/5 and O/8 and lies between and ( (Centre co-ordinates). The project site co-ordinates are given in Table 1-4. Location map of the project site is shown in Figure 2-1. The salient features of the project site are represented in below Table 1-5.
