Project detail:
Giddi-A OCP is a brown field project which has been under operation prior to pre- nationalization era. The balance mineable reserves available in Giddi-A OCP is a good quality thermal grade coal. Extracting coal from this mine would help in bridging gap between the energy needs and the supply of coal.
This project shall act as a major source of direct or indirect employement, which will inturn help in uplifting the socio-economic status of villagers living in the core and buffer zone. Further, several community development activities to be carried out as a part of CSR and other heads. This project will help in developing the supporting infracture of nearby villages like roads, railway line, power transmission line, water supply etc.
This EIA/EMP has been prepared as per EIA notification, 2006 and conditions prescribed as per the standard Terms of Reference (ToR) recommended by MoEFCC by incorporating one season baseline data generated in core and buffer zone.
