Project detail:
The Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) launched by Govt. of India in 2014 highlights “city sanitation plan” and state sanitation strategy. It recommends installation of MSW based Waste to Energy (WtE). Power projects as potential vehicle to address the surmounting woes of municipal solid waste (MSW) of cities and metro towns.
The national capital territory of Delhi is generating more than 14,100 TPD of MSW presently. The projected quantum of MSW generation by the year 2020 & 2030.
The proposed expansion of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) to Energy generating project isone of the most efficient and environmental friendly solution for tackling the municipal solidwaste problem of Delhi. The expansion of the existing WtE project has been recommendedby Hon’ble Supreme court, Hon’ble L.G. of NCT Delhi and CEC for alleviating themammoth task of MSW of Delhi.
