Project detail:
This project is an integrated municipal solid waste management project and proposed for the setting up of processing facilities and sanitary landfill facility. The proposed project is planned in accordance to the solid waste management rules 2016 and it consists of waste collection system, segregation facility, waste processing unit and a sanitary landfill.
The objective of the project study is to design an integrated solid waste management system in Chakulia city while redesigning & improving the existing solid waste management system in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner.
The proposed project is to set up a Municipal Solid Waste Management Facility to cater to the needs of municipal waste disposal facility for Chakulia town. In order to comply with Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2016, the Nagar panchayat chakulia has proposed to set up a waste collection system, segregation facility, waste processing unit and a sanitary landfill.
Management of solid waste is of growing concern to the general public at large, local authorities and business communities in cities and towns across India. The problem is exacerbating in urban areas due to rapid strides in population growth, coupled with an economic boom that encourages the consumption of goods and hence, wastes generation. The Government of India has taken several initiatives to improve the existing SWM practices in the Country. In regards of this Chakulia Nagar Panchayat proposed to setup an Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management System for chakulia.
