Project Detail:
Project involves providing submarine cable connectivity linking the countries of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and India. The main trunk from Tuas (Singapore) to Mumbai (India) and branches to Chennai and other locations. Cable in Chennai will land at Santhome High Rd, Basha Garden, Mylapore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600004. Coordinates of the BMH site are 13° 1'24.5208"N and 80°16'42.8124"E. A beach manhole (BMH) measuring 3.6 m Long x 2m Wide x 2.1m Depth will be developed for housing the cable. There are 5 existing similar BMH close to the proposed BMH site. No other major infrastructure will be developed in coastal area other than BMH. Cable from BMH will be connected to the cable landing station located at 13° 1‘3.198"N and 80°16’21.25"E in Chennai.
The proposed cable system will enhance the telecommunication, connectivity providing additional capacity, speed for traffic secure, reliable, robust and affordable telecom system for India and other subcontinent countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
