Project Detail:
Management of solid waste is of growing concern to the general public at large, local authorities and business communities in cities and towns across India. The problem is exacerbating in urban areas due to rapid strides in population growth, coupled with an economic boom that encourages the consumption of goods and hence, wastes generation. The Government of India has taken several initiatives to improve the existing SWM practices in the Country. In regards of this Chakulia Nagar Panchayat proposed to setup an Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management System for Chakulia Nagar Panchayat at Village Sugnibas, Thana-344, Khata - 166, Plot No-565/Ansh Rakba-2.0 Acre. The project seeks to improve and develop a socially and environmentally sustainable system of solid waste management which will reduce the associated environmental and public health risks. The project has been designed based on population projections. The present solid waste generation is around 5.39TPD, which is mostly comprising of domestic and commercial waste and is projected to around 7.39 TPD in 2041
