Project detail:
M/S RKV Spirits Private Limited is a newly formed company incorporated on 16th January, 2021 proposed to install Grain-Based Distillery for manufacturing of 100KLD of Extra Neutral Alcohol/Ethanol including bottling of ENA and installation of a Brewery unit for manufacturing of 75 KLD of Beer & a co-generation power plant of 3.0MW capacity at Village Beed Pallasi, Tehsil Nalagarh, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh. As per EIA Notification dated 14th Sep, 2006 amended from time to time, the proposed grain based distillery project falls under Category “B”, Project or Activity 5(g) but brewery unit does not fall under EIA notification. But, as the project falls within 5km of inter State boundary of Punjab, thus the project is to be treated as category “A’ and Environmental Clearance is to be accorded by MoEFCC, GoI, New Delhi.
Being an agrarian State manly states in India are based on agricultural produce for luxury and need based commodities and alcohol has assumed a very important place. It is vital raw material for a number of chemicals and a source of revenue by way of excise duty to central & state governments. Further, it has a potential as a fuel in the form of power alcohol for blending with petrol. The use of alcohol for potable purpose is as high as its use for industrial purpose. The promoters well versed in metallurgical industries and other businesses has planned to diversify their operations by setting up a distillery, brewery and a co-gen power plant in Himachal Pradesh. The raw materials will be source from the indigenous market which are easily available along with availability of infrastructure and manpower etc. The product will be marketed mainly in India, though fermented alcohol has export potential in countries like Canada, USA etc as the synthetic alcohol produced in these countries from petroleum do not find favor as beverages.
