Project Detail:

The present proposal is for opencast mechanized mining of limestone and shale mineral at the rate of 4.0 Million TPA and 0.42 Million TPA from mining lease area 599.1935 Ha located at villages Kumarla, Arah, Kandal and Gijarta, Tehsil: Nerwa (Earlier Chopal), District: Shimla, State: Himachal Pradesh. The present proposal falls under item 1(a) of mining under category A project as per EIA Notification dated 14.09.2006 subsequent amendment thereof.
The capital cost for the proposed mining works out to Rs. 217.11 crores including environment management, pollution control measures and community development.
