Project Details :

The draft master plan for the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area (JPMIA) under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is set to be submitted to the state government by the DMICDC in a month, which will pave the way for its notification for inviting suggestions and public comment, a top official of the department said.

JPMIA is the second node in the state after KBNIR (Khushkhera, Bhiwadi, Neemrana Investment Region) for which land acquisition is at the last stage of providing compensation to the land owners.

"The DMIC Development Corporation consultant has prepared the draft master plan that is all set to be submitted to the state government for notification for public comments and suggestion, in a month's time," said the official.

As per the draft plan, four major early bird projects have been identified to be developed in the industrial area. While the airport at Jodhpur will be expanded and upgraded to meet increased demand that is expected to be generated by enhanced economic activity, there is also a plan to develop Sojat-Pali bypass road for faster communication
The other early bird projects proposed in the industrial area include development of a multi-modal logistic hub and water supply and waste water management, and mass rapid transit system.
For the KBNIR node, the state government has estimated requirement of Rs 3,200 crore for providing compensation to the land owners and RIICO is in the process of finding options to tie up the funds.

But there is a possibility of financial requirement coming down if the title holders opt for developed area for their land, said the official. The government has issued awards for 1,425 hectare of land in Khushkhera, Bhiwadi, and Neemrana region.

DMIC will have manufacturing hubs, industrial zones, international financial centres and smart cities over 150 km on each side of the 1,480-km dedicated freight corridor that will connect Delhi and Mumbai.

Rajasthan has set out plans for the region by developing a global city, to be spread over 40,000 acres, between Shahjahanpur, Neemrana and Behror, which is expected to cater to 1 million population. Development of Aerotropolis between Jaipur and Neemrana, road link connecting Bhiwadi and Neemrana, and creation of a knowledge city are some of the early bird projects identified for the node.
