Baseline Environmental Monitoring data of EIA/EMP report for Nuagaon iron ore mines of M/S. JSW Limited for expansion of iron ore production capacity from 5.62 MTPA to 7.99 MTPA (ROM) along with existing beneficiation plant of 2.0 MTPA capacity and crusher & screen plants within the lease area of 767.284 Ha in Keonjhar District, Odisha. Baseline environmental monitoring data on Air, Water, Noise and Soil had been collected by M/s. Creative Engineers & Consultants, Chennai in summer (March to May’2018) and currently by Vimta Labs Limited, Hyderabad in post monsoon season covering October to December’2020. Environmental monitoring data had been collected covering both core zone and buffer area within the radius of 10 Km from the mining lease area of Nuagaon Iron Ore Mines. PM10 and PM2.5 monitored during Oct’2020 to Dec’2020 is reported to be 53.9 to 82.6 and 28.4 to 39.9 µg/m3, which more than monitored value of March to May’2018 at the same site. However, corresponding value of SO2 and NO2 monitored during Oct’20 to Dec’20 is reported to be 3.6 to 6.8 and 7.2 to 15.8 µg/m3, which is less than monitored value of March to May’2018. Though the monitored values for the set of data are found to be within the stipulated standards
While comparing with the MoEF&CC Norms, the monitored ambient noise levels of day, night and day nights of both sets of monitored noise levels are found to be within the stipulated noise limit values for Residential areas.
Total cost for implementation of CER activites works out to be Rs. 1452.43 Lakhs and its consolidated
