Project Detail:
Sirkari-Bhyol Rupsiabagar Hydro-Electric Project, conceived as R-o-R scheme across Goriganga in Munsiyari Tehsil, Pithoragarh District of Kumaon Division of Uttarakhand, envisages utilisation of gross head of about 357.83 m for annual power generation of 529.12 MU in a 90 % dependable year with 95% machine availability. The proposed barrage site on river Goriganga near is proposed about 470m downstream of the confluence of River Goriganga with Jaulchidda gad near a place called Rargari Tok of Sai Bhat village with intake structure proposed on the right bank. A Surface Power House (3X40 MW,) on the right bank of river near village Rupsiabagar has been proposed.
The project has been planned to be completed in four and half years’ time frame from the date of start including the period required for testing and commissioning of the power plant equipment.
Project is planned to be executed in a total period of 54 months after all the statutory clearances have been received and includes Tender Engineering and Award of Work and for Mobilization. Accordingly, the sequence of execution of various Project components has to be carried out as per schedule so that disruption or delay of subsequent activities is avoided. The number of working days available in a calendar year is taken as 240.
The works shall be carried on contractual basis with one or separate packages for barrage and appurtenant works, Intake and HRT and Power house and Hydro-mechanical works. There will be two Contract packages. Package – I will include Civil works and Package – II will be for Hydro mechanical works.
The cost of the project including escalation in cost during construction period and interest on loan amount during construction (IDC) is estimated at Rs. 87943 lakhs. The levelized tariff works out to Rs. 3.31/ kWh.
