Project Detail:
The company has proposes expansion in existing unit for manufacturing of Low Ash Metallurgical Coke at Gujarat. The unit has already procured adjoining plot with survey no. 483/P for expansion. The existing plot area is 32278 m2 and additional plot area is 6436.24 m2. The total plot area after expansion will be 38714.24 m2.
The proposed expansion is a non-recovery coke oven plant to produce Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (LAM Coke). Coke is made by carbonization of a blend of selected bituminous coals (coking coal) in specially designed refractory ovens of` bee-hive shape, running at very high temperatures, in absence of oxygen, wherein volatile matter in coal is burnt. Once the raw coal, is charged inside the pre-heated ovens, it immediately catches fire and attains a plastic stage , it is then the volatile matter starts burning and escapes, with further increase in temperature of the coking coal, this coal re solidified and resultant coke is formed. This coke has higher percentage of Carbon. Traditionally, chemistry, size and strength have been considered the most important properties for use coke in the blast furnace. The quality of the constituent coals determines the characteristics of the resultant coke.
The proposed expansion cost will be INR 8 Crore. Employment generation will increase from 125 to 225 with addition of 100 employees due to expansion.
