Project Concept
Connectivity is one of the key challenge in the State for tourism industry. Hence State Government is taking initiatives to boost air connectivity and attract high end tourist
State Government intends to increase the number of flights from Delhi and Chandigarh in the existing three airports of the State – Jubbarhatti in Shimla and Gaggal in Kangra and Bhuntar in Kullu
State Government is inviting investment from Private investor to operate Air/ Heli Taxi Services in the State both through Helicopter and fixed winged aircrafts. This will improve the air connectivity of important tourist destinations and attract high end tourists
Apart from improving the connectivity, there is also huge potential of joy rides in the State. The existing 64 Helipads spread over Himachal can be considered for this purpose (See map below)
Proposed Heliport at Shimla will facilitate the Heli-services to the hill town
