There are adequate streetlights installed in Bijuri town, covering 70 per cent of the total municipal area. As per the data available from BMC, there are in total 766 street lights installed on 988 poles in the town and most of them are in working condition. The condition of streetlights is fairly good and the lights are functional. Most of the street lights have tube lights and at some places sodium lamps have been installed and all these are controlled manually. The High mast lamps have been installed at 6 locations; Indira chowk, new Gandhi chowk, Jai-stambh chowk, new bus stand, old Municipality chowk and Picture 5-8 Street lights installed along the roads city tank. Mini high mast lamps have been installed at 8 locations.
1. 100% Road coverage with street lights (maintaining a distance of 30mts c/c)
2. Slums and sensitive areas must be covered with adequate street lights as street lights are supportive in maintaining socially secured environment
3. Alternate street light options (Solar, energy savers like CFL etc.) and installation of automated control lights
4. Replacement of tube-lights and sodium vapour lamps with LED lights
5. Strict control on illegal connection
6. Under-ground cabling/utility ducts can be constructed (as GoMP has already issued instructions regarding the same ).
