The Government of Bangladesh has requested a transaction technical assistance (TRTA) from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to prepare an investment project for developing and expanding the transmission network in southern and western zones of the country. This TRTA is required to prepare all documents for the core subprojects. To satisfy ADB's due diligence requirements, the depth and coverage of technical, financial, and economic analyses will be verified, reviewed, updated, strengthened, and presented in the prescribed format. Supplementary analyses on social and environmental safeguards also need to be prepared to comply with ADB requirements. The TRTA resources will be used to prepare these additional analyses and documentation to be considered by ADB Board. |

The main output of the TRTA will be a project feasibility report consisting of (i) Bangladesh power sector assessment including how the project outputs are integrated into national power development master plan; (ii) updated problem tree analysis and design and monitoring framework; (iii) technical, economic, financial, and governance due diligence, and detailed project cost estimates; (iv) risk assessment, procurement plan and implementation schedule; and (v) social and environmental safeguard documents initial environmental examinations or environment impact assessments in case of category A, and summary poverty reduction and social strategy, gender action plan and resettlement plans in Bangladesh |
