| Project Detail : | Tenneco Clean Air India has announced a capacity expansion plan involving an investment of Rs 690 million to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and meet rising demand in the automotive components segment. The company’s material subsidiary, Tenneco Automotive India has approved the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Western India as part of this expansion strategy. The project is designed to enhance production capacity and improve the company’s overall manufacturing footprint in India. The expansion will add approx. 2.1 million units per annum of front strut and rear shock absorbers, complementing the company’s existing annual output of about 19.69 million units, which is currently operating at optimal utilisation levels across its plants. The additional capacity will be implemented in phases during FY 2026–27 and FY 2027–28, aligning with anticipated demand growth in the automotive sector. The entire investment will be funded through internal accruals, reflecting the company’s strong financial position. The decision was approved by the Board of Directors of the subsidiary at a meeting held on May 28, 2026. The expansion underscores the company’s strategy to scale operations, improve efficiency, and capitalize on increasing demand for high-performance automotive suspension components in both domestic and global markets. |
